SCC offers a wide range of excellent services and benefits to their eligible employees.

Regular employees, with a full-time equivalency factor of three-fourths (3/4) or more, are eligible for all benefits available through SCC. Full-time equivalency definitions for college employee classifications are outlined in the SCC College Handbook.

The College provides the following benefits to eligible employees:

Eligible employees receive thirteen paid holidays: New Year's Day, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (3 days), and winter break (5 days).

Health & Dental Insurance (SCC Ben Dollars)

The College makes available a minimum of $50,000 life insurance coverage and $50,000 accidental death and dismemberment coverage for eligible employees.

The College makes available long term disability insurance for eligible employees.

The College makes available a group retirement plan (TIAA Retirement Plan) to eligible employees, and contributes an amount equal to the employee's contribution. Eligible employees age 30 and above are required to participate.

SCC employees are covered by the Federal Social Security Plan. The College withholds from employee wages an amount equal to the Federal Social Security Plan amount requirement for that year, and an equivalent amount is provided by the College.

Tuition Remission Policy for Employees and Dependents

100 % tuition remission for eligible employees. A percentage of tuition remission for spouse or dependent of an eligible employee, based on employee's position.

An eligible employee shall have the opportunity to be reimbursed for costs incurred for the completion of undergraduate or graduate credit courses from colleges or universities.

The Southeast Community College Board of Governors is responsible for implementing and maintaining the program of benefits for eligible employees.
