Program Description

In our Auto Collision Repair Technology program, you will become a part of a viable industry that takes pride in how a vehicle looks on the outside. You will learn entry-level technical skills for the auto collision repair field and master the skills required to repair today’s automobiles while working in one of our six new paint booths at our Milford location. When you graduate you are prepared for many jobs in the industry.

You can start the Auto Collision Repair Technology program in the Fall or Spring terms. Follow these steps to finish your application:

  4. Submit ACT, SAT, Next Generation Accuplacer, or Accuplacer test scores (reading and math) or official college transcripts showing completion of post-secondary coursework in English and math to the Admissions Office at any SCC location.

You will be successful in our Auto Collision Repair Technology program if you:

  • have high mechanical ability and basic math skills
  • have good communication skills (must be able to read, understand and follow written directions; must be able to read manuals and computer-generated instructions; and must be able to express oneself clearly verbally)
  • are computer efficient and detail-oriented
  • are a “mind-on” and a “hands-on” person
  • have the ability to work on a team
  • are creative and artistic
  • have high spatial relations ability (can visualize three dimensionally)
  • are a sequential and analytical thinker
  • can multi-task and stay on task until a job is completed

Partnership

Our program partners with I-CAR Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair following the I-CAR Professional Development Program Education Edition. This partnership bridges the gap between the classroom and the shop floor efficiently and effectively as the comprehensive curriculum offers you the same training professional technicians receive. Following the curriculum program as designed, you will graduate with the Platinum designation in non-structural and refinishing, which is the same level of recognition working technicians receive, at no cost to you or employer. Additionally, you have the opportunity to complete I-CAR Welding Training and Certification at a reduced rate.
