Program Description
The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program will prepare students for entry-level practice as a nurse. Upon successful completion of the Associate of Applied Science in Associate Degree Nursing, the graduate will be able to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). After successful completion of this exam, the graduate will be a registered nurse and can work in a variety of healthcare settings including, hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, rehabilitation centers, physicians’ offices and urgent care clinics, long-term care and home health care agencies, among other areas. Our intensive curriculum prepares learners to excel in nursing core courses and to practice with competence, confidence and compassion.
Our LPN to RN program option helps qualified students gain the additional skills and knowledge to sit for the NCLEX-RN® certification exam and advance from LPN to RN.

LPN-to-ADN Option
Please note: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Advanced Standing is available for those who have earned their LPN Diploma, hold an active license and are seeking an RN degree. Please contact the Admissions Office for specific program information.

Nursing positions are readily available in diverse communities across Nebraska and the United States. Most graduates are hired into an acute care specialty at hospitals, clinics, offices and long-term care facilities. Recent SCC graduates report an average starting annual salary of $60,112. Career options include work in a variety of healthcare settings including, hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, rehabilitation centers, physicians’ offices and urgent care clinics, long-term care and home health care agencies and many other facilities that require the expertise of a Registered Nurse.
